Egyptian court bans festival honouring Moroccan rabbi that drew hundreds of Jewish visitors

An Egyptian court on Monday banned an annual festival in honour of a Moroccan rabbi that was regularly attended by hundreds of Jewish pilgrims. After the 1979 peace treaty with Israel, Egypt began allowing organized and heavily secured trips to the tomb of Yaakov Abu Hatzira in the Nile Delta province of Beheira, south of Alexandria.
