Road safety NGO claims 40,000 Israelis driving with suspended license

There are currently 40,000 Israelis driving the country's highways and byways with invalidated licenses, a road safety advocacy group claimed on Monday.

According to figures released by the Or Yarok Association for Safer Driving, the state has failed to compile an organized database with a list of names of those who have been stripped of driving privileges due to traffic offenses.

A parliamentary committee devoted to public complaints will tackle the issue on Thursday.
