El Al flight from New York to Israel forced to turn back due to technical glitch

El Al flight 008 from JFK Airport in New York to Ben Gurion Airport was forced to turn around Wednesday morning soon after taking off, due to a technical glitch discovered in the plane, a company spokeswoman told The Jerusalem Post.

Technicians were in the process of fixing the problem in the 747-400 plane, which landed safely at JFK, containing 340 passengers.

Within the next few hours – after the technicians complete their work – the plane will once again take off for Israel, the El Al spokeswomen said.
