Israeli babies from Thai surrogates arrive in Israel

The first four Israeli families returned from Thailand with their babies, who were born through Thai surrogate mothers.

The Foreign Ministry had previously denied citizenship rights to these infants, causing an uproar earlier this month. The Foreign Ministry had said that according to Thai law, the babies were Thai citizens and it would be illegal to take them out of the country.

Around 90% of the babies in question were to homosexual couples.
